Volunteering was identified as a priority earlier in the year in all three Central Region Action Plans showing that it is something that Clubs value but also need some support in. One of the ways this will be supported is through a monthly story in Central e-news focused on volunteers. These stories will look at different aspects of recruiting, retaining and recognizing volunteers and will offer new ideas and tips to help Clubs grow their volunteer base and support their volunteers.
This month the focus is on local and online resource available to help you better support your volunteers.
Volunteering New Zealand (National Volunteering Organisation)
Volunteering NZ has a wide range of resources on their website along with policy and research – check it out to access the free best practice tool kits.
Sport NZ
Sport NZ also has a range of resources, case studies and guides focused on a range of different topics relating to volunteering. See their website for more information.
There are also local organisations close to your Club who can help advertise for volunteers, provide education and training and much more, please take time to check out your local volunteering organization to see how they can help you.
