Notes to students on entering
Students entering gymnastics events at AIMS Games should note the following;
- Divisions offered for each gymnastic sport are outlined on the AIMS Games website.
- The AIMS Games Handbook outlines the requirements for each division.
- Entries can only be completed and received by schools.
- AIMS Games offers divisions from Flyers, Twisters through to Open Grades. Please ensure athletes are competent at the elements for the division they are entered into.
- Routines should be adapted to the requirements outlined in the Handbook to ensure athletes are executing elements they are very proficient at, particularly if athletes do not have their club coach in attendance at the Games.
- It is also the directive of AIMs Games that the divisions for each sport are Junior, Open Junior and Senior and not separated by the STEPs or Levels of each sport.
- Competitive athletes should be able to keep their competitive routines as close as possible to what they compete in the national programmes of their respective sport. Please note, however, that AIMS Games is not a GymSport pathway qualifying event and is not judged (performance, no difficulty)
as such.
