Coach and Judge Education

Through quality education, Gymnastics NZ will lead coaches, judges, and presenters to achieve their full potential.

Coach and judge accreditation programmes are developed with NZ requirements as a priority and are held locally, regionally, and online.

Coaches who have done formal training overseas or at tertiary institutions can also apply to credit their qualifications to a Gymnastics NZ coach qualification—please see the recognition of prior learning process.

2024 Coach Connect Conferences

The popular Coach Connect conferences are being held in November in both Auckland and Christchurch. Keep an eye on the Coach Connect Instagram page for event updates as we confirm presenters and facilitators.

Safeguarding and Child Protection

Gymnastics NZ is committed to creating a positive culture within the sport of gymnastics that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. As part of this commitment, we require all coaches (paid and volunteer) to complete safeguarding and child protection training.

Training for adult coaches is provided free by Sport NZ and can be accessed online at any time via Sport Tutor.

We offer a youth safeguarding workshop specifically aimed at teen coaches. For more information please contact your relationship manager.

More information can be found in the Gymnastics NZ Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy and for information on what to do if you are concerned about something within gymnastics please visit Safe Sport here on the website.
