Congratulations to Ryan Davies from GymKids (Ponsonby) who has been awarded a 24-week scholarship to Ollerup next year.

As a child Ryan competed for 5 years at Twisters Gymnastics and was also a member of the Wellington team for NZ Nationals multiple times. Ryan returned to the sport 4 years ago as a coach and currently coaches 6 days a week at the Gymnastics NZ (GNZ) member club GymKids in Auckland.

Ryan is the manager and coach at the club’s Ponsonby location. He coaches a range of disciplines including pre-school, adults, tumbling, recreational men’s and women’s gymnastics and competitive women’s gymnastics.

Ryan currently holds a number of Gymnastics NZ qualifications and is busy working on his post-course assignments for the Women’s Artistic Junior Coach qualification.

While at Ollerup Ryan has chosen to study TeamGym as he sees this is a great fit for his club’s Ponsonby location and is a new area of growth and a development pathway for young athletes who may want to retire from competitive gymnastics.
