In 2016, Jessica Rice was nominated by Rimutaka GymSports and GymSports New Zealand for the Upper Hutt Youth Leadership Award.  The judges were so impressed that they awarded Jess the Mayoral Award – the overall top award.

In 2017, unbeknown to the Club, Upper Hutt City Council nominated Jess for the New Zealand Youth Awards. Nominations closed on the 22nd of March with judging taking place on the 31st of March.
