The growth of TeamGym in New Zealand is well underway with the first competitions of the season held in the Waikato (Huntly) and Auckland (GymCity Papatoetoe) in the last couple of weeks. TeamGym already has a large following in the Wellington and Whanganui regions and, with support from Gymnastics NZ and funders, is being developed in other regions.

TeamGym is a team performance sport with origins in Europe that includes floor, tumbling and mini trampoline routines, displaying acrobatic and gymnastic elements to music. TeamGym encourages participation across a range of ages and abilities combining teamwork, creativity, originality and showmanship to provide the audience with an energetic and dynamic performance. TeamGym is the ideal activity to keep active through gymnastics while being part of a team.
