Noga adds Auckland to her Rhythmic journey

Anna RobertsonInternational, Rhythmic gymnastics

Noga Barkan, an Israeli gymnast was preparing for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games when she was diagnosed with cancer. Her dream to take part in the Olympics was crushed, but her wish to go to the Olympics to support her teammates was granted by Make- A-Wish Israel. And then, in January 2018, Noga achieved another amazing accomplishment – she led a team up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Israel. Noga has also volunteered for the Israeli Army and was recently honoured for her service. She now trains gymnasts in Israel.

Noga is here at the moment with Make-A-Wish NZ, and inspiring others as she continues her special journey. Listen here to the chat she had with Lorna Subritzky on Coast FM this afternoon.

We hope that Noga enjoys her NZ experience. We look forward to catching up with Xtreme Rhythmix and North Harbour Gymnastics Club to hear all about her Masterclass on Sunday.
