We are pleased to announce that the Gymnastics NZ Board has appointed Meg Crockett as our new Chief Executive, starting on 27 October.

Meg brings more than 20 years’ leadership experience across New Zealand sport. Most recently, she served as Chief Executive of Baseball New Zealand from 2021 to 2026, where she led the organisation through a significant period of change and onto a strong, sustainable footing.
Before Baseball New Zealand, Meg was Chief Operating Officer at New Zealand Football and spent seven years with Netball New Zealand, including as Head of High Performance. Her experience includes athlete welfare, integrity and injury prevention, including leading the development of NetballSmart and player welfare work at New Zealand Football.
Board Chair Quinton Hall said Meg’s leadership experience, people-focused approach and strong background in athlete welfare made her well suited to lead the organisation.
“Meg brings significant experience across New Zealand sport, alongside a genuine commitment to putting people at the centre of how she leads. Athlete welfare has been a thread throughout her career, and that strongly aligns with our commitment to keeping participants’ safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
“We’re looking forward to Meg bringing that experience and people-focused leadership to Gymnastics NZ, and working alongside our clubs and wider gymnastics community.”
Meg said she was looking forward to joining Gymnastics NZ and working alongside the people who make up the sport.
“I believe gymnastics plays a pivotal role in New Zealand’s sporting landscape, providing a foundation for movement, confidence and lifelong participation in sport. I’m excited by the opportunity to work alongside the passionate people, clubs, wider gymnastics whānau and Gymnastics NZ team, drawing on my experience in sport leadership to build upon the strong foundations already in place.
“I look forward to working collaboratively to continue to strengthen the sport, support its people and create opportunities for gymnastics to continue to grow, evolve and thrive into the future.”
We look forward to welcoming her and introducing her to our gymnastics community over the coming months.
