In order to remain competitive and financially viable in a rapidly changing world and to ensure that investment decisions and funding applications are well informed and have the greatest chance of success, Clubs need to be looking outside of themselves for evidence to support these decisions or requests.

The Sport NZ Insights tool has been designed to provide readily accessible, reliable data to support evidence-based decision making. Users of the tool can build insights around regional populations expected population growth, health, activity behaviours and trends as well as school profiles and sport participation trends from key data sources. This information is hugely valuable when thinking about new facilities, introducing new programmes and supporting funding applications.

A public version of the tool can be accessed by anyone through the Sport NZ website and contains demographic and trend information (Public Charts) from Statistics NZ and information from the schools census.

A second tier of information from Sport NZ, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Nielsen Research is now available to Clubs. To access these charts you need to complete the short online learning module, Sport Tutor – a 30min online tutorial.

The module should give you all the information you need but if you would like more support on how this could be useful to you please contact your Regional Relationship Manager.
