Gymnastics New Zealand is exploring changes to our membership model to better reflect the evolving needs of our community. The current model, largely unchanged since 2008, no longer fully meets the changing needs of our clubs and members. This is our opportunity to make improvements to the membership model to better enable positive gymnastics experiences for everybody.
To ensure this process is inclusive and collaborative, we are establishing a Membership Model Working Group. This group will bring together key members of our gymnastics community to explore and develop options for a refreshed membership model that is more effective and efficient.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future and ensure our membership model supports all those involved in gymnastics across Aotearoa.
Objectives of the Working Group
The Membership Model Working Group will:
- Review the current membership model and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Explore innovative and inclusive approaches to enhancing the membership model that reflect the diverse needs and interests of the Gymnastics NZ community.
- Provide recommendations to the Gymnastics NZ Board for potential adoption.
Composition of the Working Group
The working group will consist of:
- Current Gymnastics NZ members with an interest in governance and membership.
- Individuals with experience in gymnastics club management and administration.
- Representatives that bring an athlete, coach, and parent perspective.
This diverse group will ensure that a wide range of perspectives are considered in the development of membership model options. The group will meet virtually in late January and February, working collaboratively to shape recommendations for a sustainable and inclusive membership model.
