Registrations Now Open for Zespri AIMS Games

Anna Robertsone-News

Registrations for the 2025 Zespri AIMS Games are now open, and we’re looking forward to another year of exciting gymnastics action. All intermediate school students are eligible to enter.

Enter as Many Codes as You Like
Participants can compete in aerobics, artistic, rhythmic, trampoline, and tumbling—and there’s no extra cost to enter all five. New to a code? Beginners can join the flyers or twisters divisions. Online videos are available to help students practice at home or school, and many local clubs offer pop-up classes leading up to AIMS Games to help gymnasts fine-tune their routines.

Competition Schedule and Updates

Sunday 31 August – Artistic Open Division
The open division will now follow the same format as any Gymnastics NZ endorsed competition. Gymnasts will be judged just as they would at a standard competition. MAG competitors will perform on all six apparatus, while WAG competitors will compete on all four apparatus. GfA Levels 4-6 have also been added. AIMS is not a qualifier for the 2025 National Championships.

Monday 1 September – Artistic Novice Division

  • Flyers and twisters boys will now compete on the same apparatus as the girls: beam, vault, and floor.
  • A new open novice division has been introduced for advanced recreational gymnasts and high-level competitors from other gymnastics disciplines (aerobics, rhythmic, trampoline, or tumbling).
  • For clarity, the open novice routines are now included in the handbook.

Tuesday, 2 September – Trampoline

  • Open division: Athletes will now compete in their Gymnastics NZ level, eliminating the need to learn new routines.

Wednesday, 3 September – Tumbling

  • Open division: Athletes will compete in their Gymnastics NZ level, keeping their existing routines.

Thursday, 4 September – Rhythmic Gymnastics

  • Open division: Additional categories have been introduced to create a fairer competitive environment.

Friday, 5 September – Aerobic Dance

  • Open novice division: More flexible rules allow dancers and cheerleaders to showcase their unique styles while integrating aerobic skills.

Prizegiving

  • Medals will be awarded to the top three overall.
  • Ribbons will be awarded to 4th-6th place overall and the top three in apparatus.

See the handbook for more information or speak to your club. Or feel free to contact aimsenquiries@argosgymsport.co.nz with any questions.

We look forward to this year’s competitions.
