New Zealand’s trampoline team has wrapped up a landmark World Championships in Pamplona, delivering proud performances, breakthrough moments, and the strongest collective results in Aotearoa’s history on the trampoline world stage.

Across a week of elite competition, New Zealand athletes reached a record five finals and achieved our best-ever team placings, with the women finishing 10th and the men 16th in qualification rounds.
In the finals, Maddie Davidson and Dylan Schmidt finished 4th in mixed synchro, missing the podium by less than a tenth of a point. Bronwyn Dibb placed 5th in women’s double mini, while Bronwyn and Rachel Schmidt finished 7th in women’s synchro. Both Maddie and Dylan also placed 7th individually in their trampoline finals.

For Rachel Schmidt, who also serves on the GNZ Athletes’ Council, the synchro final marked a fairy tale end to her competitive career. Returning to the international stage after time away, Rachel delivered a world-class performance alongside Bronwyn to secure a top-eight finish and close her journey as a world finalist.
Earlier in the season, Performance Advisor Angie Dougal spoke about the long-term vision shaping New Zealand’s progress: developing athletes carefully through the stages of their careers while maintaining high expectations for international success. The results in Pamplona reflect that philosophy in action, with a balance of experience, resurgence, and emerging talent across the team clearly on show.
The focus now turns to the World Age Group Championships, where the next generation will carry that momentum forward. With strong foundations and growing depth across all disciplines, the future looks bright for NZ trampoline.
Congratulations to all athletes, coaches, clubs, and support staff on a record-breaking campaign, and to Rachel, for a truly special finale to her career.
To everyone heading into World Age Groups this week – Aotearoa is behind you.
