Please be aware of the following closing dates for award nominations.  Refer to relevant websites for full nomination criteria.

CSG Konica Minolta Northland Sports Awards
Friday 2 December 2016, ASB Stadium, Whangarei
Acknowledging Sporting Excellence in Northland
(Nominations for the Northland Sports Awards can only be made by affiliated Regional Sports Organisations or the National Sports Organisation.)  Nominations for the following awards close 3 October 2016:

  • ASB – Code Awards
    Nominees will be awarded within their code i.e. Northland Tennis Player of the Year etc. These awards recognise achievements of athletes aged 16 years of age or older and competing in open competition
  • Regent New World – Coach of the Year Award
    Awarded for the most outstanding performance/highest achievement by a coach who has coached at the highest level over the past 12 months.
  • Rowsell Collision Repair – Leadership in Sport Award
    Awarded for the most outstanding achievements/results by a sport leader in relation to their sport and/or the sport sector over the past 12 months (Sport leaders are considered as board members, committee members, paid or voluntary staff. This does not include coaches or officials and is not a service award i.e. achievements must have been in the last 12 months).
  • NorthCloud – Official of the Year AwardAsian Little Chinese Girl Smiles with a Trophy
    Awarded to the referee / umpire / judge who has officiated at the highest level over the past 12 months.
  • Brian Maunsell – Memorial Service to Sport Award
    This award recognises volunteer service, achievement and contribution to sport throughout the nominee’s sporting life – both within and outside of Northland. The nominee must have made a significant contribution to Northland sport. The emphasis for this award will be on both the length and level of contribution of volunteer service to sport. (Note: Suggested minimum length of contribution for nominees is 20 years.)
  • Dudley & Dennis – Team of the Year Award
    Awarded for the most outstanding performance/highest achievement by a team over the past 12 months.

 

2016 ASB Northland Secondary Schools Sports Awards
Thursday 27 October, ASB Stadium Whangarei.

The period when achievement is to have occurred is 1 November 2015 to 21 October 2016.
Nominations were due by 8 September 2016 (but 2016 NZ Gymsports Championships results will be included in the final nominations by 3 October).

Far North District Council Sports Awards
Friday 11 November 2016, Scenic Circle Hotel, Paihia

Acknowledging Sporting Excellence in the Community – nominations are due by 3 October 2016.

Silver Fern Farms Kaipara Sport Awards
Friday 4 November 2016, Lighthouse Function Centre, Dargaville

Acknowledging Sporting Excellence in the Community – nominations are due by 3 October 2016.

Whangarei Club of the Year Award 2016
Nominations are due by 3 October 2016.
