At Gymnastics NZ, we love seeing clubs grow, evolve, and create even better experiences for their members. That’s exactly what NHG Trampoline and Tumble has done with its exciting move to a brand-new, purpose-built facility in Albany.

A Dedicated Space for Growing Athletes
For years, NHG’s trampoline and tumble athletes trained in a shared mezzanine space at their Event Finder Stadium venue. While they made it work, it often meant packing up equipment to accommodate stadium events—especially before major competitions or qualifiers. Thankfully, the wider gymnastics community in Auckland, including Icon Trampoline Club, stepped in to provide training space when needed. But NHG knew their athletes deserved a dedicated home, and now they have one.
The new Albany facility is fully equipped with six trampolines, a full-sized air track, a running strip for double mini, and all the gymnastics equipment needed to support gymnasts from beginners to squad level. This incredible space allows NHG to provide consistent training opportunities and expand what they can offer to their community.
Celebrating with an Open Day
To mark the occasion, NHG hosted an Open Day on 30 November, where families explored the new venue, and kids got to experience classes for free. The event became even more memorable with a special visit from Olympic trampoline medalist Dylan Schmidt, inspiring the next generation of gymnasts.
The club’s success wouldn’t be possible without its dedicated team of coaches, including Stacey (Head Tumbling Coach), Vince (Head Trampoline Coach), and Performance Trampoline Coaches Brodie and Kate. These coaches, many of whom work across multiple NHG venues, bring a wealth of experience and passion to their athletes.

Looking Ahead
NHG wasted no time putting their new facility to great use, recently hosting a North Island Club Connect event. This workshop supported athletes working towards international competition in 2025 and showcased the potential of the new space.
Of course, a move like this doesn’t happen without a committed team behind the scenes. Vince, NHG’s Trampoline and Tumble Programme Director, managed the project with the help of Brendan and Brodie, while Janet Grant, NHG Board Chair, played a key role in making the vision a reality. Their collective effort has created an exciting new chapter for NHG.
With their first trampoline and tumbling competition at the new venue set for August, NHG is ready to take trampoline and tumbling to new heights. Gymnastics NZ is thrilled to see this club continue to grow, and we can’t wait to see what the future brings.
