Manawatu Shows 45% Membership Increase

Manawatu Gymsports has grown from strength to strength over the last year with 2017 Term 1 membership numbers showing an increase of 45% from the same time last year. This, combined with a request from Feilding Gymnastics Club to join them as a satellite club, shows the work they are undertaking in developing internal, and building external, relationships for the benefit of the wider Manawatu area.

Where was the growth?

As with many clubs, Manawatu Gymsports Competitive athlete numbers have stayed pretty consistent’ however their Pre-School and Recreational programmes have seen considerable growth and they are still looking to continue growing in these codes.

How has the club reached this growth?

As a Club they have focused on the delivery of a badge programme in all their GFA codes, which is assisting in retention as gymnasts have a pathway to, creating ongoing progression targets. They have looked critically at how the Club operates and made huge changes to their equipment and floorplan. This has created a more welcoming space and in addition made room for an extra set of bars and better overall use of the gym space. They have also made better use of the available timeslots in the gym offering classes outside of the traditional timetable offered.

Congratulations to Manawatu Gymsports for their renewed focus on Club business and the resulting growth.
