There was plenty to celebrate for Gymnastics NZ at the 2026 New Zealand Sport and Recreation Awards, with two of the organisation’s leaders recognised for their outstanding contribution to sport in Aotearoa.

Belinda Randall, Head of Community Sport, was named a joint recipient of the Susie Simcock Future Leader’s Scholarship, recognising her leadership and commitment to strengthening participation, supporting clubs, and creating positive experiences for tamariki and rangatahi across the country.

Chief Executive Andrea Nelson MNZM was honoured with the C.K. Doig Leadership Award in recognition of her exceptional leadership and contribution to sport. Throughout her time with Gymnastics NZ, Andrea has led significant change across the organisation and wider gymnastics community, helping shape a stronger future for the sport.

To have both Andrea and Belinda recognised on the national stage is a fantastic achievement and reflects the impact their leadership continues to have across gymnastics and the wider sport sector.

Congratulations to you both on these well deserved honours.
