A Standout Weekend for Coach Development

Anna Robertsone-News

More than 60 coaches from across the country came together over the weekend of 31 January–1 February for a busy programme of junior and advanced coach courses across artistic, trampoline, and tumbling.

With two days of learning, connection, and practical development, courses were highly hands-on, supported by a fantastic group of gymnasts who volunteered as demonstrators. Their involvement allowed coaches to see skills clearly, practise drills, refine techniques, and build confidence in spotting in a real training environment.

The atmosphere across the weekend was energetic and collaborative, with coaches learning alongside one another and sharing ideas across disciplines. It was a strong example of how in-person learning continues to play an important role in building capability and confidence within the coaching community.

A sincere thank you to the Manukau Counties Community Facilities Charitable Trust (Four Winds Foundation) for supporting venue hire through grant funding, to our course facilitators for their leadership and expertise, and to the many gymnasts who generously gave their time to support the delivery of the courses.
