Many young athletes dream of representing their country at their chosen sport. These six young teammates from Christchurch School of Gymnastics (CSG) are no different and after years of hard work, their dream will come true.

After the trial at CSG Classic in July, seven girls from the South Island were selected to represent New Zealand at the 25th Prime International Invitational being held in Singapore in November 2017.

Ruby, Meg, Isobel, Avalon, Sian and Hayley (CSG) will be joined by the experienced former Senior International and Commonwealth Games representative Anna Tempero from Blenheim Gymnastics Club. Anna retired from International gymnastics a few years back but she isn’t ready to hang the leotard up yet and will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to this team. This South Island contingent will travel with Ava Fitzgerald (North Harbour); Sarah Jennings (Twisters); Tannah van Niekerk and Lucy Packer (Tri Star) to make up the full NZ Team.

The 25th Prime International Invitational will see athletes from five different countries and 28 different Clubs compete. We wish them all the very best in their competition and look forward to celebrating their successes when they return.
