Education Updates – March 2019

Anna RobertsonClubland Newsletter

Education courses are well underway for 2019 and all course bookings are now done through Club Portal. Feedback about this registration process has been very positive so far. If you are wanting to book someone onto a course and have not yet received information about accessing club portal, please contact Helpdesk or your Relationship Manager and they will arrange this asap. Don’t forget that if you wish for a coach or judge to attend as an observer, you will need to email education@gymnasticsnz.com.

Practical Coaching Hours and migration of coach/judge qualifications
At the end of each year, we collect practical coaching hours from clubs. This information will now be entered directly via Club Portal. In order to allow for clubs to transfer over to Club Portal, the deadline for 2018 Practical Coaching hours is 30 April 2019.

XTND Update
As you will have heard, XTND has been reviewed and updated for 2019. Key things to note:
• XTND students can start at any point during the year
• Year 1 modules have been replaced with 1 online module and 5 practical modules. Once the online module has been completed, the rest of the modules can be completed in any order increasing flexibility for students and clubs.
More information can be found in the 2019 Education Handbook. Please also download this flyer and poster for your coaches and gyms. If you do not currently have students engaged in XTND and you are interested, please contact your Relationship Manager.

Education Calendar and Handbook
The education and event teams have been busy working on draft education calendars for 2019. Keep an eye on the website as calendars are updated. Please also see the 2019 Education Handbook. This and Education course costs (which now include GST) are both available on the website and through club portal.
More education updates are in this recent memo.
