Over the weekend, around 100 level 3–senior open men’s artistic athletes took part in MAG 360 training clinics held across the country, with a fantastic turnout and a real boost as we head towards the XP Gymnastics Nationals.
Leading the clinics were Olympian Misha Koudinov (North), Mike Plourde (Central), and Cameron Beeton (South). The focus was on refreshing athletes and coaches on 360 selection testing, while also supporting skill and routine preparation for Nationals.

The clinics are a vital way of sharing the technical expertise and strategies developed at national camps with the wider community. Coaches rolled up their sleeves alongside their athletes, working with gymnasts from other clubs as well as their own. This ‘muck-in’, collaborative environment not only lifts performance but also builds strong connections that extend beyond the weekend.
Of course, the real mahi happens in the daily training environments back at home clubs, so it’s important to acknowledge and thank the clubs who support their athletes and coaches to attend.
A huge thank you also goes to our lead coaches for giving their time during an already packed season, and to the host clubs Tri Star, Hutt Valley, and Christchurch School of Gymnastics, for opening their facilities. Your support is critical to the continued growth of our men’s artistic performance pathway.
