Springboard takes centre stage during Oceania Congress

Over the weekend, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland hosted the Oceania Gymnastics Union Congress, bringing together representatives from across our Pacific region to connect, share insights, and plan for the future of gymnastics across the region. New Zealand was represented by Quinton Hall, Gymnastics NZ Board Chair, who joined delegates for a full programme of discussion and collaboration.

The Congress also marked the first gathering under newly elected OGU President Kitty Chiller, and it was a pleasure to welcome her and fellow delegates to Auckland.

As part of their visit, the group spent time at Tri Star Gymnastics Club, where delegates were introduced to Springboard, our new recreation programme. Led by Cara Forster, Coach and Judge Development Lead, the session was hands-on and high-energy, giving visitors a genuine feel for how Springboard builds confidence, movement foundations, and enjoyment for young participants.

The experience sparked strong interest, with several federations keen to explore how Springboard could support participation and access to positive gymnastics experiences across Pacific nations.
