Last month 10 athletes and three officials donned the New Zealand tracksuit and travelled to the Association of National Aerobics Championships (ANAC) in Phoenix Arizona.  One of the athletes shares her thoughts with us on the tour below…

Hi, my name is Taylor McCaughan and I am a member of the Christchurch School of Gymnastics Aerobics Team. 2017 has been an exciting year for me as I qualified to represent New Zealand at the 2017 ANAC International Aerobics Championships. This personally was a huge achievement for me as it was my first year competing in the Senior International Category.

To gain selection I had to compete at the ZM1 Aerobics Competition in Auckland. I knew this would be a challenge but my ultimate goal was the qualification mark and selection into the NZ team, and success, I did it!

From here on in I had to start a lot more training to be better and along with that went the fundraising… lots and lots of fundraising!

My coach Jess Gibson who has coached me for four years helped me train and prepare for this event. I had the most amazing experience that I will forever remember. It was an absolute privilege to be part of an amazing New Zealand team and my goal is to be in the team to ANAC again in 2018!
