On Saturday 5 August, Gymnastics Waitara officially marked the end of a very long journey from an initial dream to finally opening the doors on a new facility. Many Clubs have dreams of a beautiful new facility, but Waitara is a great example of the sticking power and commitment required to make those dreams a reality.

The new facility has plenty of space to have all the apparatus they need set up along with a pit, tumble track, and spectator seating, and the athletes and coaches are really enjoying working in the new, light and airy space.

A week after officially opening, Gymnastics Waitara welcomed athletes to the Waitara Opens, their first event in their new home. This gave them a great opportunity to show off their new facility to Clubs from around the country.

While the completion of the facility marks the end of a journey, it is also the beginning of their next journey. Gymnastics Waitara is now working hard to grow their membership and to embed their new facility into their local community.
