TeamGym and Tumbling
The two priority programmes developed in 2017 were TeamGym and Tumbling pathways.  Both of these programmes became a focus through the community need and linking to the national participation strategy supporting retention of athletes in clubs.

Elementary Coach pilot education courses for TeamGym and Tumbling were offered in November and were fully subscribed with 30 participants on each course. See the Education Calendar for more courses being offered. Elementary Judging courses are also being developed for each of these programmes. A memo will go to clubs when these are made available.

TeamGym and Tumbling Technical Handbooks are being finalised and a memo will go to clubs when they are available. These manuals will only be accessible through the member only page and are only to be used for member only delivery.

See an example of how Tumbling is being used to improve retention in Waikato clubs.

Schools Competitions Handbooks
Manuals for Schools Festivals, AIMS Games and NZ Secondary Schools are being updated and clubs will be informed when the information is available on the schools’ page and the member only page. The password for the schools’ page will remain the same and clubs will be reminded of this in the memo to clubs.

AIMS Games – Tumbling and Aerobics
We are pleased to announce that Tumbling and Aerobics will be offered at AIMS Games in 2018. Further information on the timetable will be on the AIMS Games website by early March. The technical information for these new programmes will be in the School Festival Manual available for schools on the schools only page and to clubs on the member only page.
